NM Archaeology Fair AND Blackwater Draw Annual Atlatl Competition!
It's that time of year again! We're starting to gear up for our Annual Atlatl Competition at the NHL, and boy, do we have news for you! This year the Blackwater Draw National Historic Landmark will be co-hosting the State Archaeology Fair at the site (along with State representatives). Lucky us, and lucky you! We will have the same competition that you all know and love, but we will also have different booths, volunteers, and representatives from all over the state. Now, I know I say this every year, but this year is NOT to be missed. Check out our Facebook page for further updates as we learn more, but in the meantime, save the date!

9am, gates open, event should wrap up between 1pm and 2pm but the site will be open to the public and FREE all day! For those of you who haven't visited us before, our address is 508 Route 467 in Portales, NM. We are 1 mile north of Oasis State Park. Feel free to call the museum to get more info at (575) 562-2202.
