The Blackwater Draw Museum (BWDM) allows collections access for scholarly and academic purposes from other universities, academic institutions and affiliates, and private organizations. Requests must be approved by the Museum Manager, Collections Specialist, or Director, and be arranged no less than a month in advance. Collections are accessible Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and are dependent on staff availability.
Any person wishing to do research with a collection must fill out a Request for Research form and our Policy Agreement form. If the researcher also intends to photograph the collection, a Research Photography form must be included. Student researchers should include a letter of support from a faculty member at their home institution who is advising them on their project. Please submit these forms by email to the Museum Manager for consideration at least one month in advance.

Any requests involving destructive analysis or commercial image use will need additional approval. Please contact a staff member about your inquiry.
